My ex from a decade ago is texting me

I have a, somewhat, violent ex that started texting me out of the blue after over a decade. He was a mean alcoholic, who I later found out was also on meth. The last time I saw him, he had his hand around my throat threatening to kill me. I finally worked up the courage to leave him after that. I had to block his number every 3 months(back then, blocking a number from your phone only lasted 3 months) for over a year and a half after that. The threats and just nastiness he'd text me were terrible. I'm trying to decide if I should answer at all or just keep ignoring him. What would you do?

Someone looped their lock through my bike after a 10hr shift. I decided to take the “I’m not angry I’m just disappointed” route.

Making the bed every morning is totally pointless

I’ve never really understood the obsession with making the bed every morning.

First it was my mom growing up every day before school: “Make your bed!” And now it’s my girlfriend doing the same thing.

Every morning, she's on me about it: "Come on, let's make the bed together. It'll make the room look nice." Nice for who? We both work all day, so no one's even seeing it.

She does it religiously. Like the second we get out of bed, boom... she’s fluffing pillows, straightening sheets, smoothing everything like we’re filming a commercial. And God forbid I sit back down for a second, I get the death stare.

Seriously, what is the logic here? You spend all night in it, mess it up completely, and then... what? Spend five minutes every morning just to make it look untouched for the next 12 hours? No one’s seeing it. We’re not running a hotel. And even if someone did randomly walk into our room (why would they?), I doubt their day is going to be ruined by an unmade bed.

I don’t know, man. It just feels like one of those “because that’s what adults do” things. Like no one actually has a good reason, we just do it because our parents did it and now, we think not doing it means you're lazy or immature or some crap.

Beds are for sleeping. Not for show.

DiscussionI hate to break it to you, but we don’t all look young for our age.

I don’t know where it got started but I often see posts, videos or other content about how millennials all look young for our age. Sorry to say, but this just isn’t true. Most of us look our age. Some of us look younger and some of us look older, just like every generation before and after. We’re not special and no, hose water wasn’t a fountain of youth.

DiscussionWith fallout 5 being greenlight. Where would you want the game to be ?

I know the question got asked about a hundred time. But since we have news about the fame (finally...) I wanted to ask the community where would they want the game to be.

I added map to help to see where the previous game were and what faction was there.

Personally I know it may sound un original but I would really like the next game to be either in Louisiana or up north in Canada/top of the New england. I would really like to have a game where all the environment is like Far Arbor. It's still for me one of if not THE best place in all of the fallouts game (I know I'm biased but I don't care I LOVE THIS ISLAND) And I feel like it would be a good idea to run up north to see a more nuclear winter type of area or something at least that would feel colder than the typical desert we see since Fallout 1.

No problem with the nuclear desert or anything just it can feel empty really quicly and Fallout 4 and 76 really managed to break from this for me it, so I would like to see something that really cut from the typical desert. That's why I would also like to see Louisiana to have a more aquatic like style of game, with lush mutated forest like the one we see in F76.

I also think that New-york could be a good place to do the next game but it would need to be more than only New-York otherwise the diversity of environment would be lacking at least I think it would end up on the lacking side. But they could do some very good thing like different theme for different place of New-York, the cost being dock like community build-up verticaly on the facade of building. Manatan being the lush forest I mentioned earlier. A real sewer complex with community cut from the surface like in metro, a community build around verticality again on the Empire state building with how high you are a representation of your social rank. Idk I'm just trowing idea. But I really want to know what everyone think.

We have the oportunity to theorize for real this time so what do you people think ?

Why is Norway like that?

Me and my gf, both American, just did a trip to Europe. We spent some time in Norway and Denmark, and i was shocked by the contrast. The Danish were so cheerful, outgoing, and friendly. Lots of cafes, restaurants, bars, and all in all things were very lively.

Norway was so quiet, and the Norwegians were so reserved. No smiles, no laughter, sidelong glances kept us whispering in public spaces, and the restrictive liquor laws caught me off guard. I come from Utah, mormon country, and I’m used to a religiously repressed culture and religious oppression extending to laws and legislature, which is all to say it takes a lot to rattle me. The fjords and nature was breathtaking, but it was damn near impossible to get a buzz on and i felt like any form of cheer wasn’t really welcome. Why is this?

In Japan, farmers turn rice fields into giant artworks using colored rice plants. It's called Rice Paddy Art and it's as precise as it is beautiful.
