TIL a man with chronic déjà vu was "trapped in a time loop" for 8 years, which forced him to drop out of university. He was unable to read newspapers or watch TV because he believed he had seen it all before, despite not having any neurological condition chronic déjà vu patients usually suffer from.

AIO?? My boyfriend said period pain “can’t be that bad” and now I’m wondering if I’m dating a walking podcast mic??

We’ve been dating 7 months. He’s 28M, I’m 26F. He’s usually sweet — opens doors, does dishes, all that. But this week I got hit with one of the worst periods I’ve had in a while. Full body cramps, fatigue, nausea, the whole cursed uterus starter pack.

So I canceled our midweek dinner and told him I was curled up with my heating pad and some painkillers. His response?

I said, “Yes. I’ve literally passed out from cramps before.” And he just chuckled and said, “You girls are so dramatic about this stuff. My sister used to skip gym class over a stomachache.”

I reminded him that he has never bled out of any orifice for a week straight and maybe shouldn’t comment — and he actually rolled his eyes. Then he doubled down: “If it was really that bad, how would women even function in society?”

Like… what????

Later I told my friend and she was like “girl, if he thinks period pain is a myth, imagine what he thinks about childbirth or consent.” And now I can’t unhear that.

AIO for being genuinely pissed off and questioning the relationship? Or is this just one of those “men will never understand” moments I should let slide? Because I’m one more mansplanation away from mailing him a free sample of uterus simulator wires and a GoFundMe for brain cells.

AITAH for "not caring" about my neighbor's daughter sunbathing while being watched?

We all live on a street that abutts a baseball field. All the kids grew up playing there, and when no games are going on, it's basically an official hangout. There's a big blacktop area, basketball courts, the baseball diamond, Foursquare, hopscotch, and a giant playground. We live in a safe area, so it's not uncommon for there to be 2 dozen kids ages 10-14 who all rode their bikes over.

One of the neighbors has a 22 yr old daughter. I'll include her attractiveness only because it's relevant. She's a beautiful young lady.

Apparently, she sunbathes in her backyard nude while her parents are at work. There is an old cedar fence next to an old chain link fence, and there are voids where you can see into their yard.

So the neighbor father stopped me the other day to tell me my son and a bunch of his buddies were all watching his nude daughter through the fence. I told him I'd speak to my kid, which I did. Sat him down and explained he was violating her privacy, and she's allowed to be nude without being creeped on. If I find out he's back at the fence, he'll no longer have access to this field, which would be devastating to him.

Yesterday, the same neighbor said it's continuing to happen, basically daily. I asked if my son was involved, and he said it's tough for her to tell. I called my son on speaker in front of him, and he was adamant, ADAMANT he hasn't been back. I can read my son like a book. I know when he's lying and when he's defending himself from being falsely accused. I believe him. I hung up and continued to talk to the neighbor. Told him I'm not sure what he's looking for from me, and i can't help him. Which he was pissed about.

But WTF. Yes, she's allowed to be nude in her yard, BUT there are literally dozens of preteen boys next door. You would need armed guards to stop them all gathering at the fence.

Am I responsible for trying to parent every other boy, some I dont even know? I did my part. If it was my daughter, I'd probably ask she remain in a bathing suit while sunbathing. Maybe some of you will hate that answer, but when the beautiful college girl is naked 50' from a bunch of horny boys, what else am I supposed to do about it??

Nips aren't professional

I just got a little part time gig to get me out of the house that involves a "uniform". When I hit 40 many many moons ago, I stopped wearing bras. Uncomfortable, rubbed my skin raw, expensive. I wear a cami. So I just got pulled into the manager's office with an HR rep, "blah blah blah, shirts are thin, your appearance isn't professional, need to wear something over or under" I pulled the strap of my cami out, "yeah I, uh, do". I did end up wearing a company pull over and sweating my ass off (it's a pretty physical job). WTF though, this is where society is? Nips ain't polite? What's next, panty lines? Funny thing is...I used to wear lacy bras, and they weren't a match for these tatas either, hahaha.

AITA for canceling my brother’s job before he even started

I’m 33 and recently got promoted to Director of Operations at a growing company. Part of my job involves expanding the team. My younger brother, 27, had been jobless for a while so I pulled some strings to create a position that fit his skills. It paid well, had growth potential, and I was excited to help him get back on track.

Last weekend at a family BBQ I overheard him talking to a couple of his friends. He didn’t know I was nearby.

He said, “I finessed the hell out of my brother. Told him everything he wanted to hear and now I’m locked in with a fat paycheck. Easy money.”

They laughed. He added that I’ve always been the “gullible responsible one” so he knew I’d fall for it.

I didn’t say anything at the time. But Monday morning I called HR and had the offer rescinded. I told them the position was no longer being filled.

Now the whole family is coming after me. They’re saying it was just trash talk and I overreacted. My parents are calling me cold and dramatic. My brother texted me acting confused saying he “thought we were good.”

Here’s my thing I was helping him out not just hiring a stranger. If that’s how he talks when I’m not around how can I trust him on my team?
